About Us

Tim Kelly Consulting Engineers is an engineering consultancy specialising in the design of timber structures in Ireland and United Kingdom. The company was established in 2006 by Tim Kelly, a chartered engineer with 19 years experience as a Structural Engineer designing projects in timber, steel and concrete. We currently specialise in timber structures and have widespread experience in all the areas outlined in our Services section below.

In particular, we strive to put forward structural solutions which minimise or eliminate the use of structural steelwork within buildings. This is part of our principle of promoting the use of timber on cost, environmental, constructional and ‘finish quality’ grounds.

We are members of the Structural Timber Association and Trada. Furthermore we are approved NHBC Timber frame design certifiers

Tim Kelly also sits on the technical committee of Irish Standard IS440.
